San Martino di Castrozza – Rosetta Hut

From the Colverde funicular station in San Martino di Castrozza, take footpath 701 to reach the chalet Rifugio Col Verde; Follow trail 701 up to Col Verde and from here, still along trail 701, continue in the direction of Rifugio Rosetta until you reach the Pale di San Martino plateau area and, shortly, the Rifugio. From the Refuge it is possible, in about 20 minutes of easy walking, to climb Cima Rosetta and reach an altitude of 2743 m to enjoy a splendid view of San Martino and the entire valley.

Rosetta Hut – Fradusta Glacier – Pradidali Hut

From the Rosetta Refuge along Trail 709 we travel in 1:30 hours to the base of the Fradusta Glacier. Climbing the left shoulder, we reach in about 1:30 hours the beautiful and panoramic Cima (2939 m) located right in the heart of the Pale Mountains. We get down the glacier, and after the Passo Pradidali Basso, we move down through the hollow of Val Pradidali toward the homonymous Hut.

Pradidali Hut – Treviso “Canali” Hut

Starting from Pradidali Hut, we follow the footpath 709 and go down to Val Pradidali; walking on a panoramic path that runs across impressive dolomitic faces, we get to the beautiful Val Canali, where we can admire the stunning Cima Canali, the countless pinnacles of Cimerlo and the majestic tower of Sass Maor. Then, we move right heading to the ruins of Malga Pradidali and Malga Canali, walking through a larch and spruce wood. In a short time, via trail 707, we reach Rifugio Treviso (1631 m), located at the foot of Sass d’Ortiga opposite the grandiose Cima Lastei.

To conclude the experience on the Pale di San Martino, we ascend the wide valley “del Coro”, and we get to Passo Canali (about 3 hours) on the eastern edge of the plateau: once you get here, don’t miss the breathtaking 360° view on the Dolomites. Another 3 hours of walking along Trail 707 will take you to the Rosetta Shelter. From here, we will take the Col Verde – Rosetta funicular to get to San Martino di Castrozza.
